Spurs dominated play with a 70:30 edge in possession but had only four shots on target to show for all that effort. Still, they only needed one to go in, and Spurs’ Korean midfielder put them ahead when Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka mishandled his hard shot from outside the box. The London side also wrote themselves into the Premier League record books by completing a 29th consecutive match without a draw.
